Default loose exhaust?

i think im stupid. i just got a mint 98z with50000miles on it and when i got real hard shifts into 2nd or 3rd i could feel a clunk and slight movement under my foot well the trans was checked and shifted fine no suspension probs but they showed me where my muffler had a big flat spot on top where the exhaust is loose i didnt think till now but im assuming that clunck and movement during a sharp shift is the exhaust hitting the bottom of the car and im feeling and hearing it what do you think? i think thats the prob and im a moron! anybody ever go through trhis?

It's probably the Y pipe hitting the floor board. alot of people around here have that problem.
