Bad temp sensor?
Bad temp sensor? Not sure if its my temp sensor or not but a lot of the time when my car is running it will be maxed. My car could sit for a week and as soon as i start it it just shoots right up. After letting it warm up it stays up but when i rev it will drop to a lower temp but then go back up. There are also times when it will act perfectly normal. I'm afraid to drive it without a working gauge, anyone know for sure if its a bad sensor?

When my sensor went bad it would act normal up to operating temperature and then it would peg out and then drop back to normal. It would do this every ten seconds so I would say its the sensor.
You can check the sensor, i did, by unplugging it, taking a volt meter on the ohms setting and checking the resistance of it at cold (sitting) engine temp and (warm) running temp. For cold its somewhere high around 20k and for running temp it should be around 300 ohms. Or your can just by a new $20 sensor, either way.
