I remember taking all that out of the 98 car I had and was suprised how big the damn thing is lol.
But thanks, this post reminded me I need to take the air pump out of the 01 car cause I just got a tune. I need those blockoffs thanks for posting that link. I know speed inc has then also.

this ine of the first things done on my ride . weight reduction and cleans up the engine bay alot . just add some breathers and delete the pcv and you are good to bling out the bay .
also makes sure oil and hot air does not come back through your throttle body and intake manifold . nothing like clean fresh air in the ls1 !

Ok *** question here. If I was to do this mod like remove the she the air pump and all the hoses and block everything off what else would I have to do? Like could I keep the stock exhaust headers on for the time being. And also think I saw s.omeone say something about a tune also cause of the codes that would POP up. And what would this do to the engine performance and stuff

You can ditch the AIR and EGR crap, and keep any manifold/header with the block off plates. I do recommend getting the codes tuned out, since it will throw codes with it gone. It shouldnt cost a whole lot to just get the codes turned off in your tune.

Do you have a hose going on top of the intake manifold?

Ive cut off parts of that damn tube. I know that tube goes from the side of the airlid, and then goes under the headlights, snakes around somewhere and then comes up. I just dont wanna cut the wrong tube... Lol

The big fat tube that you can squeeze easily... cut that. Then jack up the driver's side wheel and unbolt the 2 bolts holding up the "window" to reach the AIR pump. Unbolt it's two bolts, unhook connectors, and you're done. Sorry if that was you that asked about this in another thread lol
