Pacesetter off road y pipe restriction

Pacesetter off road y pipe restriction Last year when i installed my headers and off road y pipe from pacesetter's every thing went togheter good and liked the quality and fit, but had noticed when looking in the merge pipe that there was a restriction were the 2 pipes join togheter, i was in a hurry the get car finished that weekend and left it as is, but it had been bugging me since, today i cut my merge pipe and cleaned at least a good 1/2 " of meterial all around inside the merge pipe and then welded it back togheter. car is not on road yet so i won't see a difference now and did many other changes. fast 102 intake etc... wish i had taken my camera to take photos, forgot.
I noticed the same thing in my Pacesetter Y - took my extended carbide cutter from the porting set and cut it out - definite difference as the blockage from the overlap was on the long radius of the driver's side pipe and was causing a lot of reversion. Engine feels much smoother and not nearly as much rasp.

My "XS" (now LPP) Y was a knock-off of the Pacesetter Y in stainless. I did the same and ground down the extra material in the merge. Eventually I had the merge hacked off and had the pipes connected to an 3"/3.5" FM merge and reinstalled it. Not a work of art but flow has to be far superior.
