Default bbk ssi question

I just bought a used bbk ssi. i was told that the bbk ssi uses shorter bolts then the stock bolt... if so does someone know a length bolt for it so i can buy some. the used one i bought doesnt come with the bolts.

Contact BBK, or you can use a bunch of washers.

HMMMM If I recall mine used the stock ones...

What you might have misunderstood is the valley cover bolts... the rear passenger side one needs to be swapped out for a button head to clear the bottom of the intake. This can be found at ACE Hardware...

You do need shorter bolts. I believe M8 x 1.00 x 80mm would be perfect. I used 75mm (what i could find) and they were a little shorter once through the intake but still more than enough threads to torque to specs.

I have to correct my last post. I got confused with the valley cover bolts, for the BBK intake you need M6 x 1.00 bolts. The 75mm length ones held without washers but only a few threads. I was going to switch with 8mm but saw some 100mm M6 studs and bought them. I double nutted them and threaded them all the way in and topped them off with stainless nuts, washers and lock washers. I hope when I take the intake off there will be enough clearance but if I have to removing the studs won't be too big of a deal.

If your heads have been milled be sure to make sure the intake isn't hitting the top head bolts also. Mine did

Im installing a bbk ssi intake also I clearanced all the valley cover bolts got new gaskets I used washers as the local ace didnt have the shorter intake bolts I needed now it seems the coolant lines on the valley cover are gonna keep the intake from seating correctly im installing the intake on a 2000 camaro

Yeah supposedly it'll fit with the LS1 coolant tubes, but I had no such luck. Even with slightly flattening the LS1 coolant tubes mine wouldn't fit until I installed the LS6 rear block-offs, and front coolant tube.

You could have a shop that has a good welder/fabricator that you trust modify the rear fittings into block offs, and the front into just a crossover tube. It should be fairly easy work for them to do.
