Default Intake temperature melting point?

Hey guys,
I wanted to paint my intake with a type of paint that requires curing at 500°F for 30 minutes. Does anyone know if the LS1/LS6 intake can take this high of a temperature for that long?

Thanks

WHY! Do a search & check what others have used. There have been some quality paint jobs done.
Other wise, Good Luck.

Only because there is a particular colour I want (a certain Matt Red). If no one knows I can either just not cure it or try throwing my stock LS1 intake in the oven and see what happens. LOL

At 500 degrees, I have a feeling it wouldn't last.

ya i dont think it would melt it but i do think that it may heat it up and get soft which could cause it to warp and not seal properly. if you really want a specific color take it a local place that sells ppg/dupont etc and have them match it to a base coat and clear coat paint then just have a shop spray it.

Google search shows Nylon 6.6 has a melting point 255°C (490°F).

Common sense says to not do it, regardless of what Google found.

Thanks guys. I'll spray it and not cure it. It should still hold up fine.

Paint it and install it un-cured. Drive the car in traffic on a hot day. It'll cure.
