Default Flow of Borla XR-1 -vs- 1 GMMG muffler

I have an exhaust idea and I was wondering which flows better a Borla XR-1 or one GMMG chambered muffler?

My plan is to install two Borla XR-1's in the place of the Speed Inc ATR Dual set up but on a y-pipe set up. So I was wondering what it would sound like?

With headers and ORY will the GMMG be louder or will 2 XR-1's be louder?

Which will flow better?

I guess as long as it isn't as loud or raspy as a LM without cats

Any help guys
Thanks

I have dual XR-1's on my car and it sounds pretty mean. Just goto my website under videos and pick miscellaneous/exhaust clips from the menu. You'll see some on my 382.

Not really sure how two XR-1's would stack up against a GMMG. As duals, the XR-1's are better IMO.

Anyone else have thoughts on this?

Its not gonna be duals, there will be a split just over the axle then two XR-1's

So you're saying that I won't gain anything over my stock catback??

I highly doubt that

No, his point was why bother with two Borla's. You'll get pretty close to the same performance out of just one Borla.

Oh, my bad

I guess with two I was hoping it would quiet it down more than just 1 and still get good performance

Borla makes the XR1 in a variety of lengths. Instead of using a short one go with one that is a little longer. You could easily place it in front of the rear axle, bring one pipe over the axle and then Y it off from there out from underneath the car. Make no mistake about it, the XR1 is a straight pass through muffler. It is a mean race application muffler, so using the term muffler is only symantics at this point.

GMMG mufflers are nothing but chambered tubes. They can be picked up from various manufacturers in stainless or aluminized. The deal with them is you can get 3" ID/OD but the internal pipe is only 2.5" where as the Borla stays 3" all the way though.
