Default Throttle cable (?) Question / Problem..

Ok guys. I have posted this question in the past with no answer - so I figured I'd get some pictures so people can see what I am talking about...

I have a 98 Trans Am that USED to have Traction control. The previous owner apparently disabled it. Regardless, I do not want it.

My throttle cable is broken. The small clip is missing - and during my tune, the tuner observed the throttle would remain slightly open after pushing the pedal down. We rigged the cable with some twist ties and managed to fix it - briefly.

So - here goes:

Here is the current set up:

SO - I bought a new OEM GM 98 LS1 throttle cable for a NON-Traction control LS1 - as my TC has been disabled.

(here)

My question is this:

WILL this NON-TC cable work?

I don't have the part numbers handy but I've bypassed my
TCS "gizmo" using non-TCS cruise and pedal cables, bought
from the stealership.

These come without adjusters and you may have to bend
your gas pedal to get full draw. Other than that, life is good.

Although you haven't included the cable's part number in your post/question, it appears to be 12565559, which would be the correct cable for a non-TC LS1 F-body car.

It is for a non-tc car.

My car has TC (although disabled apparently, I have to get to the bottom of it).

For the life of me, I can't find a 98 throttle cable with TC.

So the question is using this non-TC cable on my TC equipped vehicle.

I'm not exactly sure what will have to be done - but apparently I can bypass the TC and use it.

For 98-99, GM part number 12552267 is the cable from the accelerator pedal to the TC. 12563242 is the cable from the TC to the throttle body.

I need the cable with the clip.

The clip is broken - and therefore the throttle is somewhat loose. My tune indicates it stays open a bit.

It's the second part number I posted above.

This may be a moot point as the part has been discontinued by GM. If you go to a dealer parts counter and ask them to do a search, you might get lucky and they'll find you one.
