Default knock sensors: rear is oily

doing the ls6 intake swap. all is well. thinking about changing knock sensors while im in there. the rear one has a little oil residue on it. was thinking it might not be sealing from the valley well. What do yall think?

I just swapped to the ls6 valley cover and mine were covered in oil. The rubber grommets attached to the cover underneath the knock sensors fell off they were shot. You can probably order new ones from you local dealer.

thanks. didnt see any grommets underneath the sensors. looked like they threaded into a blind hole. well i replaced the sensors and bolted everything up prior to any answers to this thread. thanks for the input though. hope all is well. the ls6 intake is on and running.

If the seals are bad it'll allow oil up around the Knock sensor. Replace the seals if you didn't already($8 pr.).
