Smile My apology thread to Magnaflow...

Well, it's official; I'm eating all the comments I've made over the last two years about Magnaflow being garbage and sounding like crap. I'm putting a cam in my car next month and I knew I had to do something about the LM1 (with LT's and ORY) on my car. I was going to put a Magnaflow bullet in the I-pipe but I felt that it would still be too loud for a 30+ miles per day DD so I traded my LM1 for a 6,000-mile-old Magnaflow cat-back. WOW! Why didn't I do this sooner? I still think the cannon-tips look dumb as hell but I have a CME valance and tips going on next month as well so I can live with them until then. To Magnaflow and the owners I've pissed off in the past, I'm sorry. Flame on for my previous ignorance.

I personally like the cannon tips on my last 98z. Thought it sounded good to. But I like the borla that I have now better.

Cannon tips.............ah not so much.

Their newer dual/dual style are sweet.

Thanks guys. I liked the way the LM1 sounded ok, just didn't like the noise all the damn time. Plus, a close friend let me borrow his heads/cam SS with a lm1/ory for 2 days and I had enough. I figure that a quieter exhaust was preventative maintenance for next month's cam swap. I don't plan on a cut out either because they sound terrible to me. Thanks again guys!

I guess the phrase "Don't knock it until you try it" comes in to play

i personally love the magnaflow. have heard other cars with lm1 and prefer the nice docile tone at cruising and authorative tone at WOT.

You got it hawiianpwr. Plus, the guy I traded doesn't have headers yet and he loves the way his new loudmouth sounds so it was a win-win situation.

I think magnaflow sounds great,at least you came out and said you were wrong.a lot of people kind of just go with the pack, but it bothers me when someone makes a thread about magnaflow and 20 people rush in and tells the guy how bad they suck, when maybe only 3 of them have ran one.I give ya props though man,I can tell ya, you will like the magnaflow, having a crazy loud car 24/7 sucks.good move on the cme,I also could care less about the tips, try and post a clip when ya get it on

Thanks Bob. I follow a lot of your posts too and respect where you come from too. I knew the lm1 would've been too much when I cam it in a few weeks.

I'm glad you like it. I don't see how people can hate on it. Maybe its not loud enough on a stock car but these cars can get pretty freaking loud, especially with a cam. I love mine, it doesn't wake the neighbors on cold start up but if I get on it, it sounds great.

I just listened to a Magnaflow cat back on a stock Fomula and compared to my flowmaster its sounds too quiet and thin. The flowmaster sounds like *****!

I would really like my 'cannon' tips if I could just get the ****ing things straight and centered!!! But I also used to think I didn't like Magnaflows that much...till I got a used catback for 150 and installed it after I ran headers with an open ORY pipe. Love the tone. I wouldn't mind if it was louder at idle, but the tone is so deep and smooth.
