QTEC not wanting to close.

QTEC not wanting to close.
Got my 3.5 QTEC on last night and it doesn't want to stay closed. When I hit the switch it will close all the way, but will crack open as soon as i take my hand off the switch. I have to hit it several times to get it too seal up. Is this normal or bad unit?

Give them a call immidiatly..they will take care of you.. thier customer service rocks...
but so you know here is some general info:... if you hold the switch too long...what you are doing is over torquing that little motor.. so what happens is that as soon as you let go of the button it will try to release all that pressure by spining backwards.. that would happen to any thing you over torque.
One thing to do is not hold the switch for such a long time.. just close it and let it go... even try to tap the swtich and see if it closes all the way..

I played with it some tonight and if I hold it till closed it will crack back open as soon as I let off the switch. I can tap it and get it to close, but takes a few tries sometimes. Is this normal. Do I just need to get used to this closing procedure or should I give Barry a call at Quick Time.

it will always leak (not stay closed) a little. QTEC's kludge is a ring of silicone. Didn't work for me, I still love it.
PS--remove the small screws that hold the plate to the shaft and reinstall with red loctite. Common for the plate to rattle loose. Loctite did it for me
