Default Regular Kooks or Coated Hookers?

I am having the hardest time chosing headers. I was going to go stainless but after seeing the price I'm going another way. Will coated be fine or what should I do? I read the coating comes off after a while. I plan on purchasing this weekend. Thanks in advance.

Well....see...coated headers rust..........they will eventually go bad..even quicker if they see rain or winterlike conditions.. my coated headers rusted within a 6-8 month period without being exposed to winter.

If i knew better i would have gone stainless and avoid the extra amount of money that i have to spend now... .if i knew better i would have gotten QTP stainless to begin with

QTP has 2 different type of headers, they have their regular stainless header and the version with high speed merge collectors for ultimate power.. and well worth the $$$ in my opinion

just my 02cents

But will the regular Kooks be ok? I can get those for between 500 and 600 but the coated or stainless Kooks are over 700. So will the plain kooks be ok?

With the Coated Kooks, you arent buying them coated so they wont rust. Stainless doesnt rust, your buying them for heat issues under your hood. Just get the regular non Coated Kooks if thats what fits in your budget, unless you are worried about them dispensing tons of heat.

Stainless wont dispense heat by the way nearly as bad as mild steel.

Just something you might consider when purchasing headers.

Ceramic coated headers will perform better than stainless steel headers. Stainless steel headers are heavier and are not as cool as ceramic coated headers.

But I went with stainless steel headers as I didnt want to have any future problems with rusting..etc..

Matt @ ttp performance would cut you an awesome deal for the kooks. I would definetly try giving him a call.
