Default coil pack alteration q's?

does anyone see any issues with trimming the metal part of a coil pack? i have a conversion vehicle is why i'm trying to alter it. i didnt know if there is something special about this or not. it seems kind of weird that it's a bunch of sheet metal stacked up instead of just a solid piece of metal. an answer would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Im pretty sure its magnetic, its part of the way the pack functions. Worst case scenario you have to replace the ones you altered. Try it....

The sheet metal core laminations are a key part of what makes the coil work. If you grind it, you'll reduce it's magnetic conductivity and the coil's performance.
