Whistling noise

Whistling noise I know this question has been asked before but i cant seem to find the thread that has the exact same problem I am having. I have a 2002 z28 and it is only driven once a week on nice days. Ive only had the car for about 3 months and havent noticed it until now but when i have not drove the car for awhile or when it has been sitting and i go to start it and then drive off there is a whistling noise and it gets louder as the rpms and speed increase. It goes away after driving for about 5 minutes but still it is starting to really **** me off. Any ideas? I have been told it may be the vaccum hose so i may check that this weekend. Thanks.
Sounds vacuum related to me. The fact that it stops after 5 min is puzzling though. Could be related to the A.I.R. pump. It will run when the motor is cold, injecting air into the exhaust stream to facilitate catalyitic light-off then shut off. The sound wont increase with rpm. Just an idea if you don't find a vacuum leak.

Its like a constant whistle/screaching noise you can hear it at idle and when you drive off it gets louder but it seems to die down after i hit 3rd gear. I will look into some more this weekend.

I get a whistling sound but only on cold start ups. Must be a decently loud whistling sound because I see you have the LM1 exhaust on your car.

Yea im pretty sure its not the vacumm lines because my car is running at perfect temp and not hot and the noise dies down after awhile and is not constant. Yea it gets pretty rowdy on cold starts and when i take it down the road its annoying as ****. The noise definetly seems to be coming from the tensioner so either that or the belt may be replaced this weekend hopefully i can fix it.

i found the problem the piece at the end of the pcv hose that connects to the intake had 2 holes on each side and is pretty much shot. i took it off and wrapped some electrical tape around it and the sound is completely gone. Now im looking to get some tubing so i can replace it because im not paying 100 bucks for a whole new pcv.
