which is best bang for my buck. i currently have a 02 z28 with flowmasters which my understanding is restrictive i have plans to very soon changes manifolds out for headers and off road y pipe. locally there is a guy selling a texas speed rumbler exhaust system which i believe will flow much better for 75 bucks.i was debating on getting the exhaust or leaving the flowmaster and buying a 30 buck cut out.which is better?
If you like that flowmaster that's fine, otherwise I would take a good flowing and good sounding exhaust over a cutout any day of the week. Cutouts just don't sound good, so then you cap it and feel like you're missing out on power.
good muffler > poor flowing muffler/cutout
good muffler > poor flowing muffler/cutout
The gains will be minimal, all catbacks generally flow about the same. The straight throughs(rumbler) flow a bit better..Id make my decision more on the sound you want other then worrying about what system flows better.
I recently replaced my flowmaster with cutout set up for a tsp cb. Its not too loud and the car feels like it picked up a little torque down in the low rpm. And the horrible drone of the flowmaster and cutout are gone. Tsp would be a good choice imo!
