Default Header Gasket Question

I bought a set of Pacesetter headers from a member and was wondering if I can use stock gaskets with these headers? Do I have to get the gaskets from Pacesetter or will any header gasket for an LS1 work? Thanks for the help.

Your stockers will work fine.... I'm still using the same ones from my Mac headers and now Jet Hots.

Thanks for the help. Are the ones you are using your stock ones or are they the ones that cam with the Macs? Is there a difference?
Thanks again

There wont be any difference but I'm still using the stock metal ones. The others have a tendancy to tear if you're not careful when you try to start some of the header bolts. BTW you can reuse your stock header bolts as well if they are still in good shape.

I'm about to install my Pacesetters also. When you say use the stock gaskets, does it mean that I can reuse the ones that are on the car with the stock manifolds right now. Or do I need to go to GM and order the same part number.

Thanks

IMO, I'd get some new metal GM gaskets... I had a friend of mine from these boards recommend getting some new ones, and when we pulled my exhaust manifolds and saw the gaskets, I'm glad I did. Sure they were re-useable, but they weren't in the best of shape. And my car only has 18600 miles on it.

You should see them at 29,000 miles. Get new stock gaskets for $13.00 each and you will have some peace of mind and no exhaust leaks.

I have and have seen others reused GM gaskets without issue, but for the cost and possible headaches I'd pickup a new set.
