Question MAF to lid bellow problem?

Ok, im going to post pictures on here so you will know what i mean. if needed i can try to get different angles too help understand.

But with that being said, on my camaro i have a problem. The rubber boot, or bellow, isnt sealing properly like it should be between the MAF to the lid. There isnt much of a distance from the two, so i was wondering if anyone had any ideas what i could use to solve this problem, because i am jus about completely clueless what to do, because i want things done right, not all rigged up and look crappy. Thanks for any advice!

my first guess would be engine mounts. have you changed them lately? how many miles on them? are they stockers? what changes you made before you install your lid? you can solve this by getting a new plastic pipe, a longer one. shouldnt be a hard fix.

Your lid is hitting your maf.
The rubber piece is not a coupler its to tighten the lid to the maf one clamp.
Most lids slide over the maf then get clamped to the lid itself.
Take the rubber piece off the lid and see what is going on.
The accordion bellow behind the maf(closer to the engine) should make up for any distance issues.

Should get you in the right direction.

well i have taken that rubber piece off and tried tighten the maf and the lid together but when I tighten it and then try clamping the lid down the rubber boot slides off and it has a gap between the that rubber and the lid, i tried countless times trying different ways to stay on and sometimes i can get it to stay longer than other times but always end up sliding back off.

oh yeah it has an new engine put in, so everything is new as far as motor mounts goes. also, it has a Kmember front end on it. it is all aftermarket underneath.

FYI your maf is on backwards. there is an arrow on the side of it indicating the correct direction of air flow.

yeap the MAF is on backwards. Remove the MAF and that rubber coupler between the MAF and lid. Insert the MAF into the lid and rubber coupler and tighten the clamps.
