Default input on what high flow cat to get?

my CES light came on today for a plugged cat (stock cats) I am wondering what cat to replace them with? I thought about going the headers and ORY way but I really am not ready to go that way. I am thinking about getting Magnaflow hi-flow cats. Inputs?

Unless you are down on power I would wait and get headers and ORY. Then get the Cats and O2 sensors tuned out.

Why fix it and then replace the whole system later? Just do it once.

Well my reason for getting it fixed now is because I plan on doing a lot of long distance traveling and don't want a plugged cat killing my mileage. If I where to end up doing the headers and ORY how much on average does the tuning cost? work keeps cutting my hours so I am trying to plan my costs for the summer

Its 150 bucks thru frost....The long tubes and ory will set you back 370 for painted and 480 for coated pacesetters thru TSP. Then gaskets, plugs/wires, AIR delete, EGR delete, new GM bolts, and motor mounts about 250 bucks. so all together say 650 to be safe and about 15-30 horsepower

If your looking for the cheapest solution until you get headers I would just take the cats off and gut them and then bolt them back up.

If your worried about the CEL you can either get o2 sims for $50 or if you call local performance shops some of them will tune them out for 40-50 dollars since it takes a whole 5 minutes to do.

It is my DD so doing a mail tune would not work well for me. I just put new gas get and plugs and wires and such on when I redid my heads. The egr delete I could Fab up some blocks in no time, I know nothing about doing an air delete so I will have to look that up. Now the motor mounts, do I have to buy special ones or what?

I am looking at the pacesetter LTs,
http://www.texas-speed.com/p-290-pac...e-headers.aspx

plus the pacesetter ORY, figured they would mach up well to the LTs so it would be easier
http://www.texas-speed.com/p-300-pac...ad-y-pipe.aspx

from what I have read around here, that they are alright headers. or is there better for around that price?

then all I should need is the motor mounts

I have had the Random Tech and now the Magnaflow cats, both are good. Hooker Headers are around the same price.
