Default New catback, catted y, or weld in cats?

I did post a similar thread about a year ago. I have an 02 ss with pacesetter LT's, ORY, and LMII + a torquer 2. With a DB meter, i'm throwing out about 130/135, way over my state limit of 95. I'm wondering whats the best route to take to significantly bring that decibel number down.

The options I've been considering are picking up a hooker catback ($400 ~ )
welding in cats to my y-pipe ($200 ~ ), or door #3, buying a catted y ( $300 ~)

If anyone has some exhaust clips of CAMMED cars with these setups I'd appreciate it

I know hooker has a very nice tone out of the box, but when you add a camshaft to the equation, everything becomes noticeably louder. My LMII was dead silent even with LT's, albeit raspy, but once I added a cam I get pulled over in every suburban town I cruise in. If I didn't live in a city, I'd get tickets on a daily basis

Start with a couple of Magnaflow 4" diameter mufflers in the rear right before the exhaust tips. I'd get the longest one you can fit. Go with a Magnaflow #10416 w/14" case length at a minimum. A Magnaflow #10426 w/18" case length would be even better, and if you believe it will fit then go with a Magnaflow #10436 w/22" case length muffler.

Price range (each) is about $63 for the #10416, $67 for the 10426, and $74 for the #10436.
If that still doesn't quiet it down enough then install some cats..

Just so I understand, with this setup I wouldn't be replacing the SLP resonator, correct? I'd just be adding mufflers after the resonator in place of the piping. I don't think anything bigger than the 14" would fit on the passenger side, and I'd assume keeping it even would be best. Couldn't I replace the SLP resonator with the magnaflow muffler first, then if necessary, buy additional mufflers to weld into the piping?

My understanding is that the LM2 has a muffler in place of the LM1 resonator. That's why I didn't recommend a muffler replacement in the I-pipe.

I really hate reviving a 9 month old thread, but oh well! I've been lazy and the car has been sitting in my garage since about August with the battery out and fuel stabalized. Now my state inspection is coming up and I'm probably going to be buying a TSP Catted Y-Pipe and sell the Pacesetter ORY. I don't see the point of having the ORY anymore anyway. Since I have the LT's without any of the sensors won't this throw off a code or something? Anyway I think I'm going to purchase 2 of those mufflers as well. I'm just a bit of an idiot and I'm not exactly sure where they're going? Are you referring to the area immedialy before the tip, or replacing the SLP muffler with a Magnaflow one?

If you really want to put a more effective muffler in the I-pipe then a Magnaflow 3" in/out 5" diameter, #12867(about $93) will do clearly do a better job than the smaller SLP muffler.
FYI, the easiest/best fitting solution though is the SLP #31086, PowerFlo conversion kit, but it's about $300..
