Default noise (vid)..lifter??

Installed an LS6 intake and on start up, it made this noise:

http://s252.photobucket.com/albums/h...t=MVI_4362.mp4

Pulled the valve covers, removed belts, put the stock intake back on, checked plugs (all tight) and the noise is still there.

Mods are lid and bigger i pipe with a little Flowmaster muffler. 152K on the car.

I ran some seafoam through, changed the oil, plugs and fuel filter the week before and took a 600 mile trip and miscellaneous street mile before I changed the intake with no noise and IMMEDIATELY on startup the noise was there. Could the seafoam have knocked something loose? I've done it to 6 other cars and never had a problem.

Very possibly could be a lifter.. Almost sounds like a loose rocker.

sounds like you knocked something down into the cylinder, like a pice of plastic or carbon. if all you did was change the intake thats probably what happened.

Sounds like something fell into the lower intake manifold/intake side of a cylinder?

Clean cloth rags went into each port as soon as the intake came off, but I suppose something could have fallen when I pulled it up. It wasn't that dirty and I did poke around there with a magnet, and looked as best I could in each cylinder and saw nothing.

Also the rockers where all tight. That was the first thing I checked.

Man thats a scary noise. It almost always points to something really not right.

Thats pretty bad. My LS1 ticks but not like that. I'd pull the intake off and check again.

I've had them both on and off half dozen times, checking as best I could every area looking for lost bolts or nuts and found nothing. Pulled the valley cover and knock sensors even.

It kind of disappears around 2500 rpm and above...the exhaust is pretty quiet making it a little easier to hear compared to even a cat back.
