Default 160* thermostat

I'm away at college and got a phone call from my dad. He installed a 160* thermostat. But when he turned the car on he said all the car was pumping out was cold air when he turned the heat on nothing at all. Let it run for 10 mins n still got nothing. Could this have anything to do with the hpp3(install unsuccessful said flash memory corrupted). Is there a way out of this? Or do I have to go back to the dealer and get the pcm flashed? some one please help.

Does he even know if the thermostat is opening? Does the engine seem to run and operate at normal temp cycles? Its possible the thermo is defective and hasnt opened, which wouldnt allow any fluid to move thru his cooling system/heater core.

Also, check the fluid level. If its too low, you wont get heat.

I cant imagine its electrical. The puter only controls the fans. Not the thermostat.

Hope that helps! Peace

Might have to try again with the coolant fill
procedure? Too much air in the system and
the 'stat may not know to open.

I always drill one little bleed hole (3/32") in
the plate just so any air can get by and
the water can't sit stagnant. Had a project
motor I built once that would yo-yo like mad
from poor "communication" between the
water jacket and the thermostat.
