Anyone use an aftermarket ballancer?

I'm considering purchasing an aftermarket ballancer for my ls3, looking at the Slp, asp, and powerbond... I see the asp has a SFI rating but unsure of the others, however the slp has timing marks and taller belt groves to help prevent the belt from being thrown off... Which one are you guys running?

The SLP is a Powerbond in a different box. The Powerbond is SFI rated, with the tall belt retention walls, but since we dont have a distributor, the timing marks mean nothing.

Duh no distributor, I was thinking for timing retard for spray... So you say go with the slp?

Look into asp....I have heard that they are lighter than the slp/powerband

Running an SLP on my ls1 mustang. Looks liek a good quality pc but i havent had much run time on it. Lightweight isnt everything its a harmonic balancer so it has more then one job to do besides take less strain off the serpentine system.

youll probably be able to find the powerbond cheaper.. I got mine from New Era for a great price.. got it quick too!

Run the powerbond for 2 years, still looks new. Go for it.

no you would need the ls1 pulley in order to line up the accessories correctly. I have an ati on mine and they are by the the best pulleys made for our cars but they come at a price. theres a reason katech uses them on their race engines, they are the only company to actually have a balancer in the pulley instead of just some dampening rubber. I got mine for 200 on scratch and dent from them you just have to call them and see if they have any available.
