Well that sucks....

I've heard some guys bending them as needed or replacing them. I've also heard about your side of the coin as well though.

Either way, great job on the lid. Passes for factory, sans paint, EASILY.

are you guys putting the lip back all the way. You know the middle part goes inside the lower lip. If you look close you'll see on the SLP lid the middle is set back form the outside corner front edge to the clips. When I was working at newera and worked on a ton of cars every time someone said anything about there SLP lod not fitting tight and the clips not fitting. it was because then didn't have it pushed back all the way, and they were tring to force the clips on with the lip outside the lower airbox. There is one brand filter that is the wrong thickness too. I forgot what it was?

yeah i had it that way. it's the back of it that doesn't fit right. the tabs stretch over time or at least they did on my lid. also this is why slp supplies you with a piece of weather strip for the back of the lid. i was looking for more of an oem fit.

Please do! I'd be game to give this a try to have the best fitting lid.

The SLP lid I had on my car fit decent enough, but I didn't like the fact that you could still see some of the Air Filter even after it was clipped in place.

This fabbed up piece looks awesome! As mentioned previously, I would like see the Lid match the Base. But I would prefer to have one in the Matte Finish of the Factory Pieces rather than painted. I'd love to see what the finish piece looks like unpainted.

You should definitely build another one.

I honestly think its worth as much or more as a SLP blackwing lid. I mean the whole reason people wanted those was because of there OEM fit/seal.

i think a satin black would be what your looking for. it should match the base.

Wow that looks great! I've never thought about my slp lid not fitting, but it does come over the lower air box in order to clip down...

Very nice work!

Could you give us some more detailed info on exactly what 3M adhesive you used and exactly where you cut the SLP and OEM lids to fit them together?
BTW, a write-up would be great!

yes, it's very strong stuff as long as you prep your plastic well before you apply it.

I'm hoping for the best. I need to pick up some c clamps and some epoxy after work.
