street car build
I am going to rebuild the wifes 00 SS. All I want is a nice solid 12 second drag radial car. I really am new to the LS1 builds. I was thinking on headers, cam computer work and maybe some bolt on stuff. I was also thinking on some port work on the heads and looking into an ls6 intake. The car already has a 4.10 6 speed drivetrain so im good there. The car already made decent stock power so i dont forsee too much needed. Any suggestions would help.

Honestly man ... full bolt ons will net you 12's. Heads/cam will net you in the 11's and in some cases 10's as well. So you really wouldn't need much. I'd stick with bolt ons and you can easily see 12's.

make sure you get 1 and 7/8" longtubes instead of 1 and 3/4"you will see the difference in money you spent, true duals if you have the money, otherwise a nice free flowing catback if your on a budget.
i wouldnt port anything unless your just trying to make it the fastest thing on the road, but if you want something quick that will land 12's and be a DD, bolt ons is all you need.
And Yes to the LS6 intake, what kind money were you looking at spending?

Cool, thanks for the input. Its gonna be more of the wifes car so twelves are good enough. I think I am going to break down the motor to a short block and bring it out topside.
