ported stock TB question Anyone on the site ever used one of those ebay TB From Affordable Speed where you buy one of theirs and send them yours as a core. i belive their out of woodstock IL
I ported my LS6 throttle body on my Z06 vette myself. I was going to go aftermarket 102mm, but I decided to use my LS6 intake for a while longer.
I bull nosed the blade, milled down the bolt heads on the shaft, & fully ported & polished the inlet. The gain was 5whp. & it measures about 83mm now. However, the edges of the inlet body are almost paper thin. The throttle response is much better & I haven't even retuned it yet. It's pretty easy to do. Just buy a porting kit from Jegs & take your time. You just need to determine how polished you want the inlet to be. Mine looks like a mirror

For a TB I would go with a reputable company (There are A LOT of sponsors on here that do TB porting) so that way if you have a problem you know they will take care of it and stand behind their product. I have read way to many horror stories on here from people who buy used TB's or from some random company on E bay because they want to save a few bucks and end up having issues. Just remember if the TB is over-ported the car will not run and idle correctly.

If you know anyone who works at a junk yard have em give you a deal, if you can get two or three just try it out and work up slowly in sanding abrasives, the one in my town i can get any of the ls tb's for a like 20 bucks a pop
