New woes, ranting again
-Geoff
The LT1 cars did have a slightly higher capacity radiator but well less than the BeCool unit.
The thicker core will be less of an issue on an LS1 car as the LT1 car has the water pump that's much longer.

Now I'm gonna rip into all the other work, pulling the radiator, exhaust blahblahhblah...
Hopefully, WS6.com will have delivered the radiator & y-pipe tomorrow.
I think I had one thing going for me: I use German Castrol 0W-30 oil. It's reported to have the highest breakdown resistance to high temperature extremes on the market.
It SUCKS that they're phasing it out-no more GC.
My wheels are kinda beat up but all about five years old now-except for one that was replaced, a Con Ed F450 truck ran it's front lug nuts into a rear wheel shredding it and the tire like a hunk of cheese.
DOH! Just missed UPS on Friday for the radiator. It'll will be in on Monday.
I pulled the old radiator and cleaned up a little rust on the radiator support. Wire brush, prepsall, heat gun, semi-gloss black Rustolium.
Mounted the Earls cooler for the transmission as well as one for the future oil cooler.
Tomorrow: The Magnaflow cat-back.

It runs just fine, purrs along nicely at idle, revs up quickly as usual, no knocking, banging, smoke in the exhaust and the oil pressure is normal.
It now has my last six quarts of German Castrol in it. Auto Zone still has stock but I think it's about to go on sale.
I just need to find the coolant level sensor plug.
The new Magnaflow cat-back sounds pretty sharp.
PROBLEMS:
The bottom passenger side A/C condenser hang clip on the BeCool radiator was one inch too high.
Why did GM plumb the A/C lines with one hard line on top? And, the lower line loops around between the fans and engine.
It sucks that GM used a radiator barely capable to cool the engine.
