Default water pump problems

Ok, I installed my water pump and put coolant and stuff(water) in there . But every morning before I go to work, it makes a squeaking noise at first but after a couples of miles on the interstate it won't do it anymore unless I turn it off for a hour or more. Then I have to repeat the process over again to get rid of the noise

eager to see the response for this as well. i was told that my water pump is ready to go out on me cause it squeaks but mine is the factory pump w/ 140,000 miles. i was told it was the pulley that was squeaking.

OP, welcome to LS1tech. Learn what search is, it'll be your best friend.

It sounds like you may have something misaligned. Have a good look at all the pulleys including the idler pulley and tensioner pulley. Try a new belt.

Make a signature saying what car you have or when you post, mention what car. This way we know what you're working on.
