Default Ls1 engine help

My Ls1 took a **** in my 2002 z28. I do not have the funds to replace it with another ls1. I can pick up a 4.8 long block for cheep. Can i swap all my stock Ls1 accessories, harness, computer......everything from ls1 to the 4.8 long block?
This is a everyday driver and i do not care about crazy power. Can i also just swap the LS6 cam and springs for extra power?

Thanks for any help and sugestions.

Yes and Yes. I would look for an LM7 or LQ4 before I get a 4.8 though.

Agreed... The loss in torque going from a ls1 to a 4.8 is gonna be noticed a lot on the street.

what kind of power would the 4.8 make with ls6 cam and springs with ls6 intake, long tube headers, 3.73 gears and a good tune?
Is there anyone with the same build?

A LS6 cam will NOT like working with that small an engine. I also don't think the heads will work well with it either.

An LS2 would be a great drop-in.

An LS6 cam has less intake/exhaust duration and less lift that some the cams offered for 4.8l and 5.3l motors that are described as "truck torque". See Engine Power System offerings for example.
