Mine held up well. But, I don't live in the north where they salt the roads. And I kept mine clean and would polish them anytime I was under the car or working around the headers.

The coating will rust, but not bad if you keep your car clean, from what I see those that rust don't keep the cars clean - at least not underneath.

The 304 stainless will not rust. But it turns gold with heat and looses any shine it had. I don't know if the gold will polish out.

I have a question about FLP headers...maybe someone out there has some experience with this: I have installed a spohn torque arm with the driveshaft safety loop fab'd into the mount. The stock Y-pipe is just touching the safety loop, and causes a real racket at certain rpm's. I am looking into a set of long tube headers, and I like the FLP package bacause of the cats/ race pipes ( which will be outfitted with QTP cutouts after purchasing for race day's ) but what I am wondering is how the clearance is gonna be on that torque arm mount/ safety loop.....any advise would be appreciated.

Our headers work with the Spohn torque arm.

Our headers are on sale as well. 15% off...

Most headers do not fit with the stock safety loops. Not sure what this fab'd mount looks like, but if your stock exhaust hits it, any header is just going to be worse.

I just had Wahusker help me finish installing my FLP's the past weekend. I do like them but have one HUGE RANT. The flanges on the headers for the AIR tubes to connect to were both rotated 90 deg. I had to cut, rotate and weld the flanges on the tubes to mate up. Second, the AIR tube fitting on the drivers side was on cylinder 1 and not #3 as the factory manifolds. Wahusker gave me his passenger side tube to use. I am thankful that this was an easy thing to overcome BUT for $1300 it's BS!

i have SLP LT's and i like them a lot. they have been on for a few months now. i have the random tec cats and y pipe from speed inc. my car had the sportlines on when the header install was done and a week later i had bmr springs with bilstein shocks only because i had MAJOR ground clearance issues. with the car sitting a little higher, im about 90% back to where i was with stock exaust and the sportlines. so if you think you can manage to avoid speed bumps for the most part, get the SLP's. if not, get the FLP's. i have a few friends with the FLP's and they love em.

The SLPs are decent headers, they are the heaviest and are a pain to install but are high quality and stainless. The main reason I use the FLPs is for the quick cat swap out, I'm not that thrilled with their Y-pipe, seems to get aweful small before the I-pipe but for most people that probably wont be an issue. I just cant deal with the no-cat smell in the summer with the t-tops on but I also spend a lot of time at the track so the FLPs work fine for me, you dont realize how nice the swapable cats are until you have them. I have to pry them over like 1/32" to get the drain plug out (I should just grind the plug down I guess) but its nothing major.

The headers were designed with 98-99 AIR tube locations and mountings. There is no need to cut and reweld anything - just used 98-99 AIR tubes on the 00 and later models.
