Default Does the Y-pipe need a hanger?

The Y-pipe that I got does not have a hanger to go into the stock location on the tranny mount thing. Will I be fine w/o one, or should I get one made at an exhaust shop? Thanks

That's a long section of exhaust to be unsupported, I would get a hanger.

I would rig up a band clamp and a strip of metal to make a hanger.?You know that bendable metal straping that comes with garage door openers.

I would use one. I took mine off whie installing the clutch, and the rear of the y-pipe was hanging kinda low so I had to put it back on.

It is a MAC ORY, with a bullet muffler installed where the hanger should be. I put the ory in and it is solid, it won't move up or down a much, 1/2" at the most. The thing is that is pulls the I-pipe down, in turn rasing my cat-back tips and now they are pressed against the bumper. I will take it to an exhaust shop and see what they can do.
