Default Egr freeze plug

So I did the !egr and use a 1 3/8" freeze plug as directed... Sounds like it's letting in air? Your thoughts?

It seems like it's only when I hit the throttle though... Is this sound I hear just a mass of air rushing through te intake?

my Freeze plug fell out the other day and was sitting on my intake(SITTING!!) but my car ran almost normal for some reason, and thats a huge vacuum leak lol..

OP if its only when you mash the gas I would guess its just air being rushed in, gets louder when you replace the lid since your removing the baffles

Stupid question here, but how is one supposed to put the freeze plug in the and make it stay? I couldn't figure it out so I set it on the hole then took some JB Weld and well secured it over the hole. Was that a good or bad idea?

Push it all the way in and tighten until it cant slide out. You'll have to hold it to keep it from spinning while torquing

JBweld is a bad idea next to a highly flexible rubber

i've used that plug on my car for the last 4 years haha.

how hard is it to install an expandable plug? really? i even removed the tb and looked inside the intake (thinking it might be in too far and restricting/upsetting airflow) and that's not the case either.

why on earth you'd give anyone more than the price of one of those plugs for deleting emissions is beyond me. i used pennies for my blockoffs and that $2 plug in the intake. been in there for 4 years/25k miles.

yeah, I got the metal one instead of the rubber type one, so I set it on top and welded it. It seems to be working fine, and I don't think I am gonna be able to get it off anymore.

ws6 store .com sells the egr plug you guys are looking for. its 25 bucks tho and is why some ppl just go with a freeze plug. imo i would change the washer on the freeze plug though. the one that comes with the 1 3/4 plug is some what small. if your at wot and that plug gets sucked in say goodbye to your engine!

Ive always used the metal plugs. Either the 35mm or a 1 3/8 metal or brass freeze plug.
Just lay square in the bore and tap squarely in place. Makes a good tite lasting seal when installed correctly.

+1. you guys are over thinking this. put the metal freeze plug in and forget about it. no need to tighten or use a sealent to keep it tight. the freeze plug itself will be air tight.
