they will rust out over time...stainless is win.
there not 1 7/8 nor are they STAINLESS
Not bad but you could of got 1 7/8 stainless and tsp y for maybe a 100.00 or so more. the pacesetter y will be full of rasp on a ls1.
Fellas...Listen to guys that have had experience with different sets of header, not folks opinions based on no factual information. The bottom line is coated steel headers are waste of time for anybody that drives thier car more than twice a year. I have had bbk, pacesetter, and hooker lt's in the past. Only putting maybe 2k miles a year max on my cars, the coated headers started to rust within a couple seasons. Your front tires will kick up rocks and road debris that will chip all the coating off the collectors...then the rust starts. This is why all fasctory vehicles come with cast iron manifolds w/ stainless exhaust systems. Again, buy a quality set of stainless headers once and never buy headers again. The price is down enough to where it's a no brainer imo. Tsp has stainless 1 7/8 for 530.00 shipped, speedtweakerz has stainless 1 3/4 hooker for 539.00 shipped, and a vendor on this site is selling kooks stainless for around 700-750.00 shipped

lol i wish my pacesetters made it around the block without flaking all the paint off. I would say pacesetter or BBK if your on a budget, TSP's new stainless headers is a hell of a bargain and when the new motor goes in (if I keep the car) I will be getting those new stainless headers.

Yea, really surprising more people don't give OBX a try. Just to let people know, these aren't the "ebay" headers. OBX has a kit that is a copy of the FLP longtubes I believe. Completely different design from the typical headers you see on ebay. The kit comes with stainless headers, stainless y-pipe, all stainless clamps, and stainless high flow resonators that look like catalytic converters.

Hooker and TSP Catted y
I have ceramic coated Hooker LTs and the TSP catted Y-pipe. They were installed 3 yrs ago and the headers look new at the heads and only have a little discoloration on some places on the collector. The TSP catted y-pipe still looks very clean and good. The only problem I had was recently the clamps were not holding the y-pipe on the headers and it slid back about a inch or so and got my CME into the rear valence and melted the damm thing in a few spots. This problem surfaced after a cam install and the motor revs up to 6500 where before it did not..........this may have caused the exhaust to slip. I checked the clamps and tightyened them but it would still slip back. I took to muffler shop and had them put a tach weld on each to prevent this but that caused another issue. I now can feel the exhaust resonance or vibration thru the car due to the welding. Its not bad but you can definately feel it where before with clamps only it was not there. The headers and y have about 10k miles on them and i live in south east Texas and have no snow /salt issues and usually do not drive in the rain but they have seen rain a few times. FYI

Like LS1W06 Dreamer, I installed BBK's...easy on, a little massage on the left header/floor pan, no big deal. Be sure and get the O2 harness extensions, much easier than doing them manually!
$299 at AutoAnything, if I remember correctly...very noticeable response, sound. Money well spent.

Ive done 3 header installs with pacesetters. They all were very easy to install. Would i suggest getting them? For the cost they arent bad but i agree with King LT-1. Just save up some more and get stainless. My pacesetters have been on my car 3 or so years only putting about 4k miles a year and the collectors are rusted like crazy. If i could do it over again i would have saved and gone stainless. Not saying the pacesetters are a bad header they make decent power and are easy to install. The y pipe was complete crap though. You deffinetly dont want a pacesetter y.
In the end the decision is yours but my .02 cents says save for stainless so you only have to do this once.
