Default Exhaust Advice

Its an 00 SS cam only car, Kooks LT's tsp ory, and an LM1. Ive had the lt's and ory on for about 2 months now and I hate the rasp. I usually make a 2hr trip every weekend and the drone imo isnt bad at 2k, I can deal with that, however I cannot deal with the rasp anymore so I'm looking into tsp true duals and I'm looking for advice on which muffler and yall's opinion on dumped true duals as far as interior noise at cruising speeds is. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks, Ryan

I think the rasp is related to having no cats. As I read, dumps can be really loud at cruising speeds and the smell and all is bad...suppose that highly depends on the person though.

I've done a bunch of research on the best way no to get rasp as well. I'm waitin for my headers to get here this coming week to do my install, can't wait!

Anyways, I have been told run high-flow cats to help a lot with getting rid of rasp, but if you're like me and on a budget, this isn't very practical.

Since I don't have personal experience as of yet with how my set up is going to sound... crossing fingers no rasp, this is what everyone is saying to do to get very minimal to no rasp:

Get rid of the merge on your current ORY, and weld in a 3" inlets to 4" outlet Flowmaster merge.

Run 4" exhaust piping all the way to your catback.

Here is a link to my thread I started about getting rid of a raspy exhaust.
https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...-get-rasp.html

Hope this helps!

IMO, replace the LM1 resonator, with either a LM2 muffler or Magnaflow#14419 muffler.

so I'm getting the feeling that I shouldn't make the switch to dumped true duals???? After reading what torkls1 replied I am considering keeping my loudmouth and putting a flowmaster merge in the tsp y pipe as well as adding a dynomax bullet in the I-pipe and maybe just maybe I can get the sound I want. That is of course if I can find a decent exhaust shop around here.

if you want loud and the best sound period, tsp duals with sweet thinders, i have had almost every catback ,none compare to duals, no rasp period, deep sound, the only bad things is drone ,and gas smell, well to me the drone isnt really bad if your hardcore, and i love the smell of race gas , i had a lm1 first loved it,after a ton of mods i hated it, i will never ever go back to a y pipe ever

basically I'm kind of set on true duals, the only concern I have and reason I haven't ordered them yet is because I just want to make sure the drone on the highway isn't so terrible that it cant be muffled by the radio.
