Default Got my cutout

Well got my cutout on my stock exhaust and I can say I'm really dissapointed. It's not that much louder than a flowmaster muffler IMO. I can also feel the loss of torque it seems.

What can I do to make it louder but still keep the cutout? Would gutting the cats and getting headers be better?

what do you mean loss of torque? on a stock car you wont feel anything whether its a magnaflow, flowmaster or a cutout...also, there will be no torque loss going from a muffler to a cutout. you will only gain. you feel the loss because its louder

It's going to flow better than the shitty crushed stock y-pipe.

When I was stock manifolds and stock Y-pipe and Borla catback I gained 6hp and 9ftlbs by opening my cutout in the I-pipe. You are not losing any power even at low RPM's.

Even with cats/stock Y the cutout was louder than my open plate Borla.

Long tubes and OR-Y are a fantastic upgrade. Did them a few weeks ago. Louder and more power. Power being what I was after.

OP do you have a actual cat-back or just a Flowmaster muffler welded in? What kind of FM? If its the 80 series I just can't see how an open cutout could barely be louder.

I'll get lts and yup just an 80 series and it is louder I guess just not what I was expectings. I'll keep the stock y pipe for now and just get longtubes. I need them to be budget friendly tho lol

You can't get LT's and keep the stock y-pipe. Just get a set of BBK LT's for $355 that come with an off-road y-pipe. I just put a set on my Dad's 98 SS and they fit great.

Save up for some better headers. TSP now has some that are stainless, but for $500. That's what I'm going with. Best of luck

Not hating on BBK, but there are some better ones out there.
