no cats here.
cons:
smell is bad. i just moved to PA, so thats gonna be an issue. if you dont plan to move, do it. if you might move someday, just get cats

pros: cats are expensive
you save the environment a little tiny bit

I've never been a fan how hollow their sound is.

Sorry for the late reply man, I got it from LMPerformance. Stainless Works makes one that's a direct replacement for the stock Y, it just doesn't have cats on it and that's the one I bought. Was like $350 or something like that, might have been even cheaper.

Also, I don't understand why people hate the rasp these cars put out without cats, I absolutely love it. My car sounds mean as **** when you're rolling into the throttle up to 5k RPM, I love when I get into RPM ranges where I can hear that loud rasp.

thats what i thought because of the backpressure. Im pretty sure cutting the cats out would replace low end torque with high end horsepower. Which is better from a roll but sometimes I like to go from a dead stop too.

Backpressure is bad on any motor, why do you think everyone that goes to true duals says "ill never go back". Peak numbers are often the same but the midrange is night and day. As far as taking the cats off the stock manifolds its pretty stupid. Its 300 all day for pacesetters and an ory. Save up and do it right

Let me get this straight...$350 to take off the cats but RETAIN sock manifolds? Pacesetters and ory are like $400 shipped... why is anyone even trying to justify keeping stock manifolds? oh and i like the rasp too

you aren't factoring in the install price, ory and catback only cost me $85 to install. Headers cost A LOT more.

Sorry, I do all my own work, so I don't factor in the cost to install anything, you can do headers in a day with a jack and stands and some basic tools, if you can I recommend doin as much of the work on your own car as possible..why pay someone else to build YOUR dream?

yeah if you do your own work it sure saves some cash. Hell, I couldn't even own one of these cars if I couldn't do my own work. Seems like I always end up driving something with high miles. Though, I have had great luck with it.
