I am thinking about converting my LS1 over to carb. I found the MSD kit for like 400 bucks and from what i have read it makes a good amount of power. But my car is my DD. What are the pros and cons of running this? Hows the tunning process work? Guys with this conversion please step in. I will be running this on a factory LS1 with 228r cam P&P 243 heads and a 150 shot threw a 4l60e with 3600 circle D converter and trans-go shift with 3.42 factory rear gears. The car is a street car and will see the 1320 from time to time.

I will be useing part numbers.
#EDL-2908 Victor Jr. LS1 carb intake
#HLY-0-82651 Holley 4150 4brl 650 cfm carb
#SUM-G3009 Hilborn style intake.
Part # are from summit racing.
I am already thinking im going to have to run speed density tune. And relocate my IAT sensor inside the scoop.
So on top of the already $1,300.00 im looking at another 4-600 for a proper street tune.
Is it worth it?

I did not relize there was a carb section. Mods please feel free to move. Im sorry.
Im not sure what i think i will gain or not gain. I seen that it can be done want wanted some more information on the subject. I wanted to know from people who have actually done this. Is this not was a imformation forum is about?

I was just trying to get a feel for your reasons for considering the change. Most people make the switch for an all-out drag car, not a DD. I would suggest saving your money and keeping the EFI. But definitely check out the carb section for more info.

Iv notices alot of that. The make the switch for all out racing or for some kind of retro ls swap into a old muscle car. I just wasnt sure. I do plan on running the victor jr and when looking at them i ran across the intake manifold/msd control box to allow you run a carb and thought that was pretty neat.
