Your in good hands with TSP and Ed. Both have allways been awesome to me over the years. Great customer service. Get some 243's if you can and send them to Ed and have him grind the cam to match.

Best thing ive goten from the old lady is she paid for my tune from Slowhawk for my bday..doesnt even compare to this. hahha.

243's are next on the list. If funds are REALLY good, I'll have to choose between TFS 215's or the new AFR 210's..... decisions decisions.

I'm liking the looks of the HSW Sudden Impact plate. The video on it is pretty cool.

Not to jack your thread but how is it working on an offshore rig? That'd seem like it'd be a pretty tight gig. Congrats by the way!

Good. Well, great, actually. Even better if the damned government.... Nevermind. This isn't the place to discuss such BS, LOL

I think 243's will be all I need for a stout street set-up, and eventually sent them to TEA

I think a little frisky petting under the car during header install is in order.

So far, so good.

Ive got Spohn solids, a trans mount, and an 04+ LS6 valley to install along with the headers / Y.

I got the intake mani and coils pulled today. Also ripped out the AIR and stock PCV.

What a damned abomination under the manifold. Gaskets melted to ****, oil all over EVERYTHING. Just completely NASTY under there. I was embarrassed to say the least.

Pulled the plugs.... For future reference to everyone, please, for the love of God, use anti-seize on the damned plug threads. / rant.

2 cracked plugs, a rotted PCV line, and 4 bent plug tips. How the hell was my car even running?

Got the intake ports all taped up. A super cleaning is definitely in order for tomorrow. I can't believe how bad the oil buildup was under there.

Anyone have a good tip on how to clean the intake ports of the heads? It's literally CAKED on the inside with oil residue build-up. I'm afraid something will fall to the valve when I clean it. A shop-vac only reaches so far.....

Tomorrow I hope to get the remaining manifold bolts off; The oil dip-stick itself, as well as mani bolt and #8. Thats really all I'm lacking... #1's bolt was missing. Haven't found out yet if the bolt was broken by previous owner. Can't wait for that news.

Should be a busy day tomorrow with the cleaning and Bally install. I MIGHT be able to get started on the headers as well.

We'll see.

Do you have a catch can? If not I would highly reccomend one, will get rid of most of that oil buildup inside the intake and intake head ports.

That's next on my list. Just can't decide between a Norris or that new RX Performance (Byunspeed) with the check valve.

140,000 miles worth of sludge is insane.

Well, I got the 04+ LS6 valley cover on today. Found out I didn't have to cut the block!!

Does that mean I have an LS6 block?

Anyways, didn't think I could clean the heads of all the gunk... A box of cu-tips, a half a roll of Brawny paper towels, and 2 hours later, I had some 241's that looked aftermarket "esque."

I soaked my nasty *** intake manifold in a Rubbermaid tub full of water and Dawn concentrate. Took off to Wal-Mart for a baby bottle brush to clean the runners... Absolutely CAKED with oil residue.

I then turned my attention to the Y pipe. Sprayed some industrial stuff on the bolts tgat I got from one of the contractors offshore; called Aero Croil.... Nuts came right off. Sweet.

Then discovered my 7/8" is missing, so off to the store tomorrow so I can pull the O2 sensors and continue dropping the stock y and manifolds.

More tomorrow, but a good day today. Hope to have the stock **** off, and possibly get the solid motor mounts and poly trans mount on tomorrow.

I also installed the '04+ valley cover. From what I understand a catch can is unnecessary with that valley cover as it pretty much completely eliminates the oil consumption. But of course one can't hurt.

As far as if you have an LS6 engine block, one easy way to tell is by the bulls-eye shaped indications on the front and back of the engine block. They are right infront and right behind the valley cover on each side and they face upwards. If you have these bulls-eye looking shapes forged in the block, then you have an LS1 block. If you do not have them, then you have an LS6 block. I came across this info in another thread in the past.

Removing motor mounts can steal the day's pride in previous accomplishments.

Should I remove the alternator? It's one bolt that's cost me more foul-mouthed tantrums and knuckle skin.

It's the drivers pedestal, motor side, front one closest to the ground.
