ls1 intake to ls6 intake
I have a 98 z28. I'm looking to upgrade from my ls1 intake to the ls6 intake. So what all needs to be done here? When I was on ws6store.com it says for the ls6 intake I will need the coolant pipe kit to convert. Is that all I will need or is there more? I don't wanna find out while doing it I'm missing something. And should it go right in or will other things need to be done? I would like as much info as possible on this. And power gains to. Thank you

^^^^ knocking the tabs off the bottom of the LS6 intake allows you to use your old LS1 coolant lines to my understanding. (to save you some money).
I would just buy the LS6 coolant lines and do it the right way..
I did mine about 2 weeks ago
Goodluck and take your time with it

You dont need the coolant lines unless you just want to switch them. You can either sand or knock off the fins on the bottom of the ls6 and it will fit great. You will need an 8mm and a 10mm socket or wrench and i recommend removing the cowl clips or wearing gloves. Your hands with thank you. Just the coolant lines from the front of the tb, and the cruise and throttle cable bracket. The egr hose from the top front, unplug coil packs and all plugs to injectors to get wiring harness out of the way. Then you will be able to see from there what else need needs to be unhooked/unplugged. then remove the 10 intake bolts (bolts without threads on top) use a piece of tape to hold the rear 4 up until you get the intake out enough to remove. After you slide it out a little (being careful not to break your opsu with the hose on the rear) there are a small vacuum line and another plug on the left rear of the intake left to unplug. After disconnecting those last two things the intake should be free (other than the fi rail) just take the 4 bolts off of it and pull up.
Im sure i left a few things out but thats the gist of it very simple job. Sent from phone.

I would buy the coolant pipe. That's what I did a few weeks back when swapping mine. Be careful with the brittle PCV hose behind the intake and for God's sake DO NOT BREAK THE OIL SENDING UNIT lol. It's kind of an expensive piece, trust me, I'd know. Good luck!

what intake bro and how much? i helped my buddy swap his out and all we had was all the parts that came off the ls1. except for a few fittings that we bought from auto zone. ill have him post on here and list what he remembers buying. also watch out for your pcv line as we broke his, they are highly sensitive but it was an easy fix... like i said ill have chaos07 post on here or you can pm him.

Thanks for the reply's. So how about power gains? My car only had a lid and exhaust now. I'm going to get long tubes and a tune also. Is it worth it with all that? And Lemon. Your selling a ls6 intake? How much??

Disconnect line from break boost to intake at the back of the intake, not just at the brake booster. Makes saving the oil pressure sensor a little easier. I learned this the expensive way LOL
