The coils may be better, but do they produce more power or increased fuel economy?

No and no. What they usually do is improve an engine's response. My car ran better when I did the swap. I did an initial dyno test that showed they added some power but some others have not found a power increase.

The forced induction people almost always got with the heat-sinked truck coils.
