how bad of an idea is this? or genius?
For one, all this air has to go through the throttle body and then intake manifold. So regardless of how much air you suck in from 3 pipes, you still have to cram it down the same path as before. So it won't make much of a difference if you bring in all this extra air when it all gets bottlenecked by the same restriction. Heck, you can bring in 17 different intake tubes from all over the car, it still all has to go through the throttle body...which if you don't increase well you haven't done squat.
You guys need to stop making this claim. Effective RAM air works because it's forcing air into the intake. This improves the engines' VE. The engine does not have to spend as much energy to move air into the combustion chamber. So, it's not all about "the engine can only take in so much air." Regardless of TB size, the engine VE is improved when the car is moving forward due to the effect of RAM air.
WindyCitySuperSport, if you want to modify & test different RAM air set ups, go for it. Just search first & get some tuning software so that you can measure whether or not the changes improved or hindered the set up.
Now will that method make more power than the stock ram air system on a ws6 i dont know
