I know the off road y is illegal to run on the street but I dont have emission testing

I was just wondering on an otherwise pretty much stock trans am, would this be way to loud of say.. 5 miles a day street commute?

You can easily get away with an ory pipe. If you are asking for trouble and revving and burning rubber, you can bet your *** the cop will fine you a ticket for your exhaust as well. A good alternative to the ory pipe, would be a cutout. But, technically, it's also, "illegal", in your words...

i say go for it! i live in cali were everything is illegal and ive only been pulled over for exterior crap like window tint, missing rear license plate light, missing front license plate, etc.. and my car is pretty loud. I guess they think my car is suspicious cus i always get verbal warnings. Just dont go revving it at everyone and youll be fine

thanks! I know i will have to put it in 6th gear when by a cop lol, the reason I asked is because i am going to get it tuned for the cutout so I want to leave it open as much as possible

A lot of just how loud the car will truly be depends on what muffler you have, but regardless it's not going to be very quiet. Anything with LT's and an O/R Y is going to make some noise.
