LQ9 Sputtering at low RPM's and 180 degrees
Hi All,
I have not been on this forum for a long time as I sold my SS Camaro many years ago. Everyone was so helpful back then so hoping you can help me with my new toy.
I have sand rail that has a LQ9 in it from a 2006 Silverado SS. It's normally aspirated with heads and cam making about 500 hp. When the car is cold (less than 180 degrees), it runs fine, no sputtering.
Once it hits 180 degrees, it sputters at low rpms. I have to feather the throttle and bring the RPMS up over 2k to get going. Once over 2k it runs perfect.
I think it is running rich when it hits 180 as the exhaust starts to get a little dark when it sputters but goes away when the rpm's come up.
It's very specific in the fact that it happens right when it hits 180.
Any help would be appreciated. It has a new fuel filter and fuel pump as well as new plugs. Only other thing I can think of would be the MAP sensor but didn't want to replace it until I have more information.
Thanks,
-MB-

Take it to a tuner. Sounds like you have a problem with your stabilized fuel table. A cam can change stuff like that, and if it isnt tuned correctly these things happen. Does it even have a wideband o2 sensor?
You have gotten no replies because you arent giving out any real specific information.
