02 ls1 cam/headers questions

Footlead thanks for the info! So basically they start to show some wear and tear in 4 years, expected, with headers. I dont feel like dropping more then 500 for this car on headers, right now anyways, always can upgrade in the future when im not so budgeted. Yeah I probably will get a 224 cam, those sound decent. Im looking for awesome sound but want to have a decent gain. I will take this car to the track a few times for fun but honestly I have always craved that bouncy cam sound. 224/228 im deciding on right now.
Definitely will not get painted, armor coating I hear is pretty solid so maybe something with that on it. Unless i'm wrong

Hooker Headers They are showing some slight color changes on the collectors but not bad at all. Not rusted up at all. Where they bolt to the heads they still look brand new. They have 20k on them. The car is garaged kept and usually not driven in the rain though. I am in south east Texas so no harsh winters either. The best bang for your buck is the convertor.
