Note...This is the first time I've ever painted anything..Got all the tips on here.
After cleaning I started sanding with 100, 220, 400, 800 then 2000 for a smooth finish..taped everything off. Used 2 very light coats of duplicolor sandable primer, then one medium. The intake was so smooth already I didn't think I had to sand the primer so I left it. ( depending on how smooth it is before primer, you might have to lightly sand primer). Let dry for 20 min, then 3 light 2 medium coats of base color, let dry over night. Six coats of clear, then sanded and dremmeled my fuel rails.
Posted a pic of my lid, radiator cover, and strut bar that I just did as well, taped off SLP logo, same proccess. Also in the proccess of painting maf/throttle body
