Default Throttle body qq

It seems that no one in my area wants to port tb's. What size after market tb can I use w/ my ls6 intake? Looking for something cheaper like a bbk or pp http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/...throttle-body/

Believe you gotta stay with the 78 for the ls6 intake. You could send yours out, most people who port them do it on an exchage basis anyway, and that would save you some cash for a mod that will actually make a difference.

Go to the ebay porter. He will send you a ported one and then refund you a core charge. You can port the LS6 to 85mm with a dremel if you want to

Forgive my nubness guys, but why port the TB if the throttle plate stays the same size? I mean where the throttle plate closes and "seals" can't be ported, so why port the horn area? Isn't the CFM limited by the size of the plate opening?

I'm familiar with the venturi effect, is that why you port the TB?

You port the TB really only for throttle response and maybe 2-4 hp..The throttle plate gets shaved, bumb stop removed so It opens 100% at full throttle, you go from 75mm to 77-79mm if ported right...It's worth it with conjuction of a full exhaust imao..

Could you notice a difference in throttle response?
