Default ORY to dumped bullet example pics

Changed my exhaust today, thought i'd share for anyone wanting to do the same thing. This setup tucks up a solid 3-4 inches higher than the TD's I had on and while I might have dropped a few lb-ft, I'd bet I gained a few HP. But it sounds AMAZING, it's pacesetter longtubes and a pacesetter ORY, the bullet is a Moroso Spiral Flow 3" in/out. All tubing is 3" all the way through.

It had a few leaks after we got it all set up, but the welder made quick work of those and it's leak free. It has no hangar as of now but a hangar will be run from the rear seatbelt bolt on the undercarriage to the turndown when I get back to the shop. Will try to get a sound clip in the daylight tomorrow.

Let the hate begin

At idle, it's much quieter than my TD's were, but it still screams at WOT just as loud as the TD's did. Only difference is the idle noise level and how well this setup tucks. I actually kind of like the sound of this one better.

I'd be very wary of that setup, the merge looks pretty bad and there have been several seeing big gains by just removing that muffler from the y pipe

I'm not worried about it, if anything i'll throw a flowmaster 4" merge on there one day. This more than anything was just to get everything out of the way to lower the car. I'm not worried about the muffler robbing any power either, i've been running 2 of these on my TD's for about a year now and before I put them on, I looked through them and theres about a 1" in diameter straight through section and the rest is just spiraling metal, no dampening material at all. Just good enough to give me a little bit of backpressure while being free flowing at the same time.

This is true. I ran this exact setup a couple years ago, sounded good but that is definitely a power robbing muffler. Prior to this I had a regular catback with a cutout. Made 342/355 with the cutout open. Hit the dyno again after putting on the spiral flow and it made 329/338. I then tossed it in the trash.

why did you do this ?just to tone it down? imo duals over a dumped y anyday, honest i dont know how anyone could go back to a y pipe after duals, unless they were really trying to quiet it down, u think a dumped y is just a down grade man, i could see if ya went with a good y and a maganflow or something but to have duals and take them off is a fail imo,car looks good though, hey some people like rasp

It's not raspy though? The TD setup I had on was more raspy than this setup is. And I did this setup because my duals hung way too low and I was sick of not being able to lower the car because with the duals I would have scraped every piece of gravel in the road.

As far as the moroso's being power robbing, I don't see how, because I had them on my duals and made 347rwhp/364wtq.

If anything this is just a temporary set up. I paid 100 bucks for the Y pipe and did all the work myself so it's not like I put alot of money into it. But I think it sounds great and it'll still blister the tires at 25mph just like it did yesterday when I had the duals on, so i'm not worried about it. I didn't put this pic up for a hundred thousand "imo" posts, I did it for anyone thinking of doing the same thing to get a good idea of where everything can go.

Thanks man! Needs a little bit of touch up paint and lowering springs but I take alot of pride in how she looks. I've had those rims for about a year now and love them more than any other rims I've had on the car, you can see the reflection of them on the ground at night.

I had that same exact setup and bullet, when I went to duals I picked up a solid 2 tenths and 2 mph at the track. I also hate the ground clearence of duals so I am going to do a custom Y with a merge.

I have the same set up. Loved it for the first month. Absolutely hate the rasp/drone now. First week of February I'm getting a new 3.5" Y pipe into 4" Flowmaster merge with 4" Cutout, Reduced back down to 3" and through a magnaflow catback.

Let us know how you like it in a few months.

I had one for a little while. Its LOUD, really LOUD, and really RASPY. I wouldn't recommend it for anything other than a drag car.

Yes, the exhaust clamp was painted after the pictures.
