Question Who has done this? Really confused!!!!!

So i've been looking and i cant find any threads or post on swapping the heads out on an f-body. Can you swap the heads with the motor in the car or is it easier to drop the motor? I am confused and wanted to know which way would be easier or simpler? Can you guys connect me to post or threads that exsist already on how to do this.

yes you can do a head swap with the motor in the car. If you use stock style bolts as replacements they can be a little tricky using the torque method from gm but it is very doable.

What do you think is easier then? spend a few hours drop the motor? Or just deal with the motor in the car?

Quicker to do it with the motor in the car. Once you pull all the top stuff out you have plenty of room to do all the work.

No, do not drop the motor for a head swap. much wasted time imo...

It sounds like that has been settled. I know that on the back of the heads there is the grounding wire and also parts of the wiring harnas is bolted to the heads. Do any of you guys bolt thos back up or just let the harnas hang?

Do yourself a favor and go get a stubby 15mm wrench. Makes those rear ground straps easier. I got one from the right side from the bottom.

Make sure you read carefully step by step, is not that hard its just time consuming and you need to have the right tools, a buddy is a plus cause I did it just myself and it took me forever but it came out perfect, I saved a lot of money instead of paying someone.
