99Bluz28,

Curious to know what the inside of those offset oval Magnaflows look like. I'm really wanting a straight-through simply because I'm not running a cut-out and don't want to introduce more restriction / turbulence into the exhaust.

I think the one pat g did would probably sound the best with a muffler where the resonator is or two mufflers after the rearend

The best mod you can do to a lm1 is remove it from the car and install a gmmg, lol. Just my opinion on that. Also, sweet thunder mufflers sound really good on these cars. I know they are restrictive but you have a cutout right before it so that shouldn't be an issue. There was a guy on here somewhere that had a t/a that he swapped out the resonator with a sweet thunder and it sounded amazing. He posted a video of his car with a torquer 2 cam. I know you can custom order the sweet thunder with a 3" in/out and a 2 3/4 inner core. You can also order them in stainless steel. It would be restrictive but sound good.

Hey for what's it worth SLP makes a Pro Flo adapter kit for LM exhausts...I listened to the difference and the proflo adapters give the exhaust a more refined sound if that's what you are going for

SLP also wants an arm and a leg.... I thought about it. I think the best thing to do is to add both magnapacks in the tails and convert the I-Pipe to just 3" instead of the resonator. If it's still nasty, I'll throw a 3" Magnaflow muffler in the I pipe as well.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I'll post a follow up and video when I get her done

Let me ask this question then-

Are the original versions "all" that much better than the ones made now? I've read before that the early versions with the welded resonators were a better grade of stainless or something like that. I'd hate to cut it up if this is true.

Detoxx & wildcamaro, agree with the powerflo, but its cheaper to put a magnapack in each tail.

Hell Detoxx, I thought you had a BorlaMouth for a while?

Those ovals are straight-through.
After some searching, I think you'll be better with a couple of center in/out ovals mounter the same way; like this.

Good LORD that looks great! I'm liking that idea.... definately.
SLP's dual/dual tips aren't going to cut it... that's for sure, LOL

In/Out Case" Overall"
2.5in./2.5in. 14in. 20in. 11216
^^ 4x9 Oval ^^

In/Out Case" Overall"
2.5in./2.5in. 14in. 20in. 12866
^^ 5" Round ^^

In/Out Case" Overall"
2.5in./2.5in. 14in. 20in. 10416
^^ 4" MagnaPack^^

I think either decision will fit, it's just a question of how do I want it to sound.
I know damn good and well this cam going in is going to make quite a difference.
I have to keep that in mind. I really like the 4" Magnapacks, but am afraid after
the cam goes in they may not suffice....at all.

Blu, you've piqued my interest in the ovals.... and then there are the 5" rounds
as well.

Damn. This isn't suppossed to be this hard.

No kidding, exhausts have too damn many variables. As long as you leave some room for making tweaks you'll get there, lol.

Oh and there's the option of using Magnaflow #12216 (5" x 8" x 14"CL).
I actually think this might be the best option, since the 5 x 8 ovals will fit up into the L&R body cavities better. Plus there only about $75 each.

"The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of a low price is forgotten"
I remind myself of this as much as I can.....

I looked at those 5x8's also. ****-beans! I wish I could hear these things. Offshore on a rig till Feb 1st.... Definately will measure 10x and then make a decision. I don't see too much difference between the 5x8's or 4x9's. It's either going to be an inch taller or shorter, wider or skinnier. I know I want center in/out though.

Yeah, just a nice to have option if you need just a little more clearance up above the mufflers. Well, I look forward to seeing the end result, keep us posted!
