Time to move the rev limiter up?
SO, I just installed a set of 1 7/8" TSP headers, and last night I took the car out for a shake-down pass. First gear was tagging the rev limiter before myself and the car either one was ready to shift, There was no drop in power and still pulling like mad normally I shift by that teensy weensy "out of breath" feeling at the top of the gear and it's just not there anymore.
What rev limiter is most everyone running after bolt-ons (stock motor with 106K so I don't wanna do anything too crazy at least until I get some new valve springs and seats lol)

You should definitely get it dyno'ed to see where your power starts to fall off at, I don't think it would even be worth it with just a bolt-on car and if you did it, you definitely would want to beef up your valvetrain.

well, I didn't think it would be worth it. Just curious of what anyone else had tried. Maybe once I get used to the extra power I'll feel that "drop" again at the top RPM. I was just so surprised by it, that it got me thinking about this some. If I get it to a dyno and it's pulling as strong as it feels to redline I'll definitely bump it up. we'll see once the exhaust is hooked back up, for now it's open headers... gotta love that drag car sound ... don't gotta love the car sounding like its gonna fall apart below 2K RPM LOL. It's funny cause driving around town you can hear/feel every cylinder pulse until about 2000-2500

Just after 5k because it lags? So in otherwords, you would want to be shifting right when the tach reaches 5? I've always felt it was a little higher than that but im no expert.

You always want to shift about 1k over your peak power...within reason. This will keep your engine running in it's power band. I agree having it dyno'd and see exactly where your peak power is and go from there.
In most cases, it's not beneficial to move the rev limit, but 200 rpm may help you some.
