Default MSD or Taylor thundervolts???

I'm gonna be doing a header install this coming week ....and I am also gonna go ahead and do a spark plug and wires too...Which ones should I get...and what's the difference between the Taylors being 10mm. vs. the 8.5mm. from MSD?....is it a noticeable diffence...is it better to get the 10mm over the 8.5?....I heard alot of issues with the MSD's coming off ...etc. Which ones do you all use and your experience...Also which plugs??? I'm going with NGK..which though? the TR ??thanx!! ....Thanx!

Go with the TR-55. Honestly don't even bother changing wires, I wasted my money on Taylor wires, then the PRO's over at Cartek dynoed my car and told me to get rid of wires and put stockers back on, why? No issues with stock wires, Taylor's are loose (not as loose as MSD) and will eventually cause internal grounding of the coil (my problem). So my reccomendation would be to stay with stock wires. Furthermore, my stock wires are showing less reistance than the Taylor 10.4 mm wires. I have an '01 SS

Ditto.

I should have checked the OHM's but at 10.4 mm I think it should at least be at stock levels. I did not see any gain nor did I ever expect too.

I sell alot of MSD over Taylor. As far as a fitment problem I have had no complaints of such. You may not see a big HP gain from them, but should be able to handle the heat better, and have a more consistant spark. If you need a good price on these let me know. PM or e-mail me kjones@sdpc2000.com

My stock 2002 plug wires had a shade over 12,000 miles on them when I replaced them with the MSD's. When put up to the ohmmeter the MSD's had .25 thousandths ohms of resistence. Stock wires had .725 thousandths ohms of resistence!!!!!! Everyone do the math and that will tell you the MSD's @ Taylor's also provide a hotter more efficient spark than the stock wires.

I have NGK TR55s, with Taylor thundervolt wires. I can say they don't fit loosely, they fit pretty tightly. I replaced mine when I did the header swap a few hundred miles ago over thanksgiving. I got them both through a GP from LS1 Speed. I would recommend them for sure.
